The Midlands SC USBC Bowling Association thanks everyone who visited Beautiful Columbia, South Carolina for the 2015 Southeast Bowling Association Handicap Bowling Tournament

A Message from Steve O'Brien

Well, July 31st was my last day as President of the Southeast Bowling Association. It is hard to put into words just how much of an honor & a privilege it was for me to serve in this position this last year. In 1996, when Jack Stiegelmeyer and Richard Propps came & asked me if I would be interested in a director position with the SBA, it was the start of an incredible 19 year journey; bowling in the SBA Tournaments, attending the SBA Fall Meetings and SBA Annual Meetings.  It was, however, a whole lot more than that. It allowed me to meet a bunch of wonderful people, people that welcomed me and allowed me the opportunity to become a member of their extended ‘family'. That gift of friendship is something that I will always treasure. I also had the opportunity to speak with many wise and experienced volunteers from all over the Southeast region over the years; to ask questions and learn from each of them. That learning experience is also something for which I am grateful. This year has gone by so very fast, and it was certainly eventful from the very beginning to this last day. I would like to thank the SBA Board of Directors for all their hard work promoting our organization, and I would like to especially thank 3 individuals. SBA Executive Director Scott Vandiver & SBA Assistant ED John Howard, I am very appreciative of all of your hard work and the many hours that you put in for the organization. Thank you both so much! I would also like to thank SBA Executive Vice President (and SBA President starting tomorrow!) Joe Spain. You have always been there to offer advice & suggestions, and I am very appreciative for your guidance & support. I know that you will do an outstanding job as president this coming year, and I look forward to serving under your leadership and continuing to promote our great organization! Once again, I wanted to tell everyone what a privilege and honor it was to serve as SBA President this past year, and tell all of you a very heartfelt ‘Thank You' for allowing me to represent our organization and members! I hope to see everyone at the SBA Fall Meeting in Warner Robbins and in Virginia for the SBA Tournament next year. GOD BLESS!!

Steven R. O'Brien
